- The Twin Effect
Twins are not uncommon but to have a village where everyone has a twin is enough to baffle  scientists across the world. A little village in Kerela (Kodinhi) has rightfully earned the title of the "TWIN TOWN" as it has around 350 pairs of identical twins.
Mysterious, isn't it?

- Is this a family or a village??
Do you ever feel like your family is too big and it's difficult to keep track of them??
Well imagine being a part of this family!
Ziona Chana - an Indian politician lives in a four storey house in Mizoram with his very large family consisting of 39 wives, 94 children, 14 daughter in laws and 33 grandchildren.
How does he even remember all the names?

- Till death do us apart!!
With the excessive number of divorce cases today, we can say that these lines stated during the wedding vows by the bride and groom are not taken very seriously. Now-a-days the divorce lawyers are surely rolling in money.
But the case in India is different as here only 1 marriage out of 100 ends in divorce which proves that India has one of the lowest divorce rates in the world.

- Save your Slippers!!!
We have thiefs all over the world, some steal money, some steal valuable art but in India we have other more important things to protect from thieves too, things like our slippers.
It's quite common in India for someone to steal your footwear especially in temples so grave measures are adopted by people to save their precious footwears.

- Still a golden bird
Women in India are smarter when it comes to saving money as they purchase gold with it as a long term investment. This has led to women in India having 11% of the world's gold. That's more than the combined stocks of Switzerland, USA, Germany and the International Monatory Fund. Indian women is estimated to have 18000 tons of gold worth $950 Billion.

- Wedding Detectives
Arrange marriages are common in India but how do you know that the girl or guy you are marrying belongs to a good family?
Well no worries because in India we have a booming business of wedding detectives whose sole job is to check out the prospective bride or groom and to possibly get some juicy dirt on them.

- Moustache = Money
Imagine getting paid to have body hair!!
Well this actually happens in an Indian state - Madhya Pradesh, here policemen are paid more if they have a moustache. It is believed that policemen with moustache are respected more by the public compared to the clean shaven cops.
- Locks??? Naaa, We have God
Locks are important to keep your precious items safe. Banks specially need locks so that the hard earned money people deposit in banks is not stolen but there's a village in India named Shani Shignapur that doesn't believes in the importance of doors or locks. Here the villagers have completely entrusted their safety in God's hands which is why homes and commercial buildings here has no doors or even a door frame. Inspired by the lack of crimes here, the UCO Bank has also opened a "lock less" branch in this village.

- Billionaire need no neighbours
Indian billionaire Mr. Mukesh Ambani build a 4,00,000 square foot skyscraper for his family. It's a 27 story building called Antilla situated in Mumbai and is popularly known as the most expensive house in the world as it costs around $1 Billion. His family and staff are the only occupants in the entire building that consists 3 helipads, 9 high speed elevators, a theatre, snowroom, health center, ballroom, spa, terrace gardens and a temple.

- Largest gathering observed from space
The Kumbh Mela is one of the oldest fairs and is considered to be world's largest gathering, organized to practice Hinduism, it attracts not only devotees but also tourists from all over the world who come to marvel at it's glory. Around 100 million people from across the world are gathered in every three years across four cities to see the famous "Kumbh Mela", this enormous congregation of people can even be observed in satellite images from space.
- Spa Facilities for Elephants
Indians adore elephants as they are a part of our mythology as Lord Ganesha (elephant faced god). Elephants in India are treated like royalty, so much so that they have a special spa retreat at Punnathoor Cotta Elephant Yard Rejuvenation Center in Kerela where they are bought by elephant mahouts for bath, scrubs, body rubs, massages and abundant food.

- No need to smoke
"Smoking kills" - We all are aware of this fact but in India even if you do not smoke, your fate may be the same as that of heavy smokers. Due to excessive pollution in the big cities of India, we can say that spending one day in Delhi or Mumbai equals to smoking 100 cigarettes.
Pretty awful, don't you think???

- Largest Population of Vegetarians
Around 35 to 40% of Indians are vegetarians either by personal choice or religious reasons which tantamount to around 500 million people who do not consume meat, fish or eggs. India is said to be the country with lowest number of meat eaters in the world.

- ID Cards for Cows
For indians, cows are sacred so it may sound weird but in west bengal, cows have photo ids to save them from getting smuggled. A unique 12 digit identification number is assigned to around 88 million cattles to ensure that they are vaccinated on time too.

- Dining with the dead!!
Call it morbid or alluring but the New Lucky Restaurant in Ahmedabad is built on a centuries old muslim cemetery. Here the graves lie between the tables and the owner considers these graves as his lucky mascots, afterall this place is always bustling with guests who apparently are thrilled to dine with the dead.
- No Seat Available?? We'll manage...
Have you ever wondered how many people could fit in a train?
Indians always think outside of the box. I mean why just fit people inside the train when you can fit them above and around the train too. With constant increase in Indian population it's no wonder that people are coming up with creative ways to ride a crowded train.

- Beverages - Only to drink??
Around the world beverages are used for drinking purposes but we Indians are innovative enough to use these soft drinks in a different way. Farmers in india use Coca-Cola and Pepsi instead of pesticides to safeguard their crops from pests. As pesticides are quite expensive, the use of beverages leads to them growing their crops in a cheap yet healthy manner.
- Washroom or Walls??
In India it's quite a common site for us to see men peeing in public. Indian government has tried stopping it through ways like construction of public toilets, organizing programs to educate people about the importance of toilets but alas they weren't as successful as they hoped to be.
So to have clean walls they have decided to target people's religious beliefs to abstain them peeing on the streets.
Now they surely won't pee on a powerful deity, will they??

- Superstition at it's best!!!
Some indian parents are highly superstitious which is why they decide the time and date of their child's birth. It doesn't matter if the mother is in labor or not, these parents are known to plan ahead and induce labor at the times they consider auspicious. They believe that being born at a certain time (predicted by a pandit or other godmen) will give their child a better future.

I think the above points are more than enough to prove that we Indians are amazingly unparalleled in our ways..........
